Anyone with half a brain who read that piece knew it was not only satire, but damn well written satire. In order for satire to work effectively there needs to be a lot of truth in it . . . . and there was a lot of truth in this girl's piece.

Sounds a lot like the cop I saw last Friday with the phone in his left hand, typing on the computer in the police car with his right, 10mph over the speed limit. I called and filed a complaint - the department called me back and the guy denied it.
